The DOM: A portable fine-art scanner for the precise digitization of medium-sized originals

Developed by recom art care, the DOM is a compact, portable system for the photographic digitization of paintings, drawings, documents, or products. Equipped with individually controllable LEDs and specialized lighting control software, it enables the creation of highly detailed images, product photos, or reproductions—a fully-fledged miniature photo studio capable of capturing even the most demanding subjects with high precision.

With 75 individually controllable and dimmable LEDs, complex lighting concepts can be brought to life. This not only makes structures and surfaces visible, but also allows them to be fully experienced. Our proprietary lighting control software enables the saving of custom setups—for maximum reproducibility and efficiency.

Thanks to its compact, enclosed design, the DOM can be set up almost anywhere and operated by a single person—regardless of ambient light.

Optional accessory: Backlight with a cove for professional cutouts and an endless background effect.

Like our CRUSE scanner, the DOM is capable of producing the reference scan from recom art care with guaranteed color accuracy. With a maximum document size of 70 × 100 cm, it is ideal for the time-efficient digitization of larger batches of smaller-format items. For approximately 100 or more items to be scanned, the DOM can also be set up at your location, sparing sensitive works the risks of transport.
