recom art care is a small, specialized team with extensive expertise in art digitization, fine art printing, reproduction photography, image editing, and art management. Every project is handled by people who know their craft and understand art.

Sven Schönauer has been working at the intersection of art and digital reproduction technology for decades. In 2002, he founded the recom art division, which set new standards in art digitization with the CRUSE scanner and the DOM. In 2012, he relocated his practice from Stuttgart to Berlin. Since 2024, he has headed recom art care in Berlin-Moabit—with the goal of offering digitization, fine art printing, and logistics under one roof at the highest level.

Katrin Rother is a photo designer (Lette Verein Berlin) and visual artist (HfbK Hamburg / UdK Berlin). As a freelance photographer, she specializes in exhibition and reproduction photography. Since 2019, she has been overseeing the Input Digitization department at recom art care.

David Burghardt is a photo designer (Lette Verein Berlin) and worked for ten years as a photo editor for renowned publishers—including Jahreszeiten Verlag, Gruner+Jahr, and teNeues. As a photographer and image editor, he has been working for agencies and photographers for over twenty years. Since 2023, he has been responsible for project management and client relations in the fine art sector at recom art care.

Laura Hegewald studied photography with a focus on photojournalism at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. She brings experience in theater, film, and portraiture to her work and is particularly passionate about the intersection of art and analog photography. Her areas of expertise include developing images in the darkroom and retouching silver gelatin prints and C-prints. Laura has been working for recom art care since May 1, 2026.

In 2019, Paul Schaffitzel completed a dual-track apprenticeship as a media technologist at recom art care in partnership with the printing company Königsdruck. Since then, he has been working in the field of digital and production printing—a specialty he combines with extensive experience in logistics, project management, and customer service.

Anna Sophia Bauer brings many years of professional experience in project management across various industries. She also holds a Master of Arts in Art History and Digital Humanities from the Technical University of Berlin. At recom art care, she is responsible for project management and online communications.

Helene Bosecker is an art historian (TU Berlin) and cultural manager. She worked for many years as a gallery manager in the art market, founded the Estonian association MTÜ Eesti-Saksa Kunstikoostöö and roam projects e. V. in 2021, and has been a board member of the German-Estonian Society Berlin e. V. since 2024. Since 2022, she has been part of recom art care as a project manager.
