Dear friends of recom art care,

This is the first newsletter we are sending out. For founder Sven Schönauer, it marks another step forward — he has been shaping the world of fine art printing for 35 years.

It all began in 1991 with Gunter Sachs’s ‘Four Seasons’ featuring Claudia Schiffer, and continued with the inkjet printing on silk for Henry Maske’s cape in 1996. What was developed back then as a pioneering achievement in collaboration with EPSON and Hahnemühle is now recognised as the gold standard and is being consistently continued. A lot has changed in recent months — the location, the range of services, the team. We would like to give you an overview.

New machine – large-format prints up to 1.90 metres wide

With the Mimaki, we now have our very own large-format printer for the first time. It handles print widths of up to 1.90 metres — with the colour accuracy that defines our work.

Wall-filling reproductions, large-format editions, oversized exhibition prints: what previously had to be outsourced to external service providers is now once again part of our own range of services — under one roof, in a single process, with a single point of contact.

New studio. New focus.

recom art care has refurbished its premises in Berlin-Moabit. As part of the refurbishment, the analogue photo lab was dismantled — a deliberate move that consistently reinforces our focus on high-quality digitisation and fine art printing.

The film scanner is still with us. It remains an indispensable tool for digitising film and glass negatives, slides and analogue photographic material.
